​JUST ONE Tree is a young, yet already award winning, non-profit organisation. We’re tackling the dual crises of climate change and biodiversity loss through global reforestation. We make it simple for everyone to get involved because JUST £1 plants 1 Tree.

​We’re unique as we don’t just plant trees. We focus on restoring the entire ecosystem in the oceans as well as on land, and we also educate the next generation of environmental caretakers.

THE ROLE:

​Since it began JUST ONE Tree has grown in leaps and bounds, punching through all our expectations. We've planted more than 5 million trees, lifted communities out of poverty, protected coastlines and brought climate change education to a quarter of a million children. 
 
Working alongside our founder Amanda, and other team members, you’ll be right at the heart of the action. We’re a small, friendly and passionate bunch of people!

​JUST ONE Tree has grown to the point where communications needs a dedicated pair of hands - and we're looking for an incredible writer and content whizz to take the reins.

You’ll create engaging content that tells our story, builds our community and connects people with our mission across social media, newsletters/email, web and events. 

This is a flexible, freelance role perfect for someone who loves crafting content that makes an impact.

Your work with us will raise awareness about the climate crisis and the importance of sustainability in the business world in order to create a liveable future. You’ll help us restore wildlife and marine habitats, improve livelihoods in rural communities, protect against deforestation, alleviate climate anxiety in our young and of course help to tackle climate change head on!

WHAT DOES THE ROLE INVOLVE:

• Creating and scheduling captivating content for social media (especially LinkedIn), email campaigns and our website
• Planning, writing/editing and creating our newsletters
• Digesting and pulling stories from our reforestation reports that capture our story and engage our supporters
• Creating digital assets for events, campaigns, and conferences
• Collaborating with our founder, marketing & communications leader and wider team, to plan communications and campaigns
• Maintaining our brand voice and helping grow our community
• Working with our marketing & communications lead to track engagement and provide insights to help improve communications

ABOUT YOU:

• Strong visual eye - cares deeply about visual quality and consistency across all content
• An excellent writer and editor with a keen eye for detail
• Experience in creating content across social media (including making Reels), email and web channels - enjoys making things look really good, not just 'good enough'
• Experience in scheduling, publishing and juggling content timelines across multiple channels.
• Confident producing digital assets for campaigns, conferences and events; video experience is a bonus
• Comfortable shaping content that mirrors our brand voice, tone and identity
• Passionate and enthusiastic - we thrive on having a great bunch of people on our team, all working together for a better future
• Self-motivated - a self-starter, someone who takes initiative and has boundless energy 
• Organised and able to work independently while collaborating with a small team
• Able to work remotely - however, ideally you'd be situated in the UK and a commutable distance to London for attending events and capturing social media content if needed 
• Have your own computer
• Fluent in English
• A couple of years of hands-on experience in social media and communications - this isn't your first role

• Part-time, freelance/contractor role, and we'll discuss monthly/weekly commitments during the interview
• Contributing to tackling the most pressing crises of our time – with a great team, and see the tangible difference your work makes across our projects and supporters
• The money bit - we have a total budget of £10,000 for the year for this role - our thinking is that would be for one day per week. During the interview, we can talk through how this budget could be broken down in a way that works for both sides​
